Pillow Talk: Ask a Stripper

What are your thoughts on peep shows? Ever been to one/worked at one?
Asia: Wait, what is that again? Oh. Yeah, I don’t know. I think that’s kind of weird. I don’t think I would do something like that…
Susan: They aren’t that mainstream anymore. (Wait, were they ever mainstream?) I used to work at one. It was sort of weird. You would basically get on a stage, and when the lights turn on, you would start to dance and strip. I had a customer who always bought private dances from me, with the stipulation that I dress like a little school girl. I’d have to go behind the glass and suck my thumb while saying things like, ‘I miss my teddy bear’ or ‘pick me up, daddy?’ It made me sick to my stomach, every time, but it was worth the three to four hundred dollars he spent. I think peep shows are for the big-time freaks.
Jordan: Hell no! They are disgusting! I heard they smell really bad.
How do you feel about pedophilia/ young-girl role
Asia: Yeah, sure, I’m down with it as long as I’m making money! I’m into role-playing in my own bedroom, but not like, pedophilia. I’ll dress up like a school girl, and my boyfriend will spank me, but that’s about as far as it goes… typically.
Susan: In my private life, I would go running scared if someone tried to get me to do anything like that…but, in the club… I guess we’re already role-playing, aren’t we?
Jordan: I think it’s way creepy. I think it leans more towards fulfilling a stereotype, because people already think dancers have daddy-issues…. they assume most of the girls were molested or raped at some point, and playing into that is just bad for the rest of us. It actually really disgusts me.
Do you have children? Do they know what there mother does for a living?
Asia: No, I don’t. [If I did] I wouldn’t tell them. I mean, I plan on quitting… ya know, eventually…
Yeah yeah yeah.
Susan: (exaggerates a laugh) No! If I did, especially if I had a daughter, I would let her know. I’d say, ‘well, there was time, when I was curious. I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life… but then I grew up, and realized the good sides and the bad sides of it.’ And if she was curious, and wanted to dance, that would be her decision.
Jordan: If they were older, yeah, they’d understand. If they stumbled upon some gear in my closet, I’d be like, ‘Sometimes, your daddy and me get frisky…’ I think it would get dropped pretty fast.
Random Dancer in the dressing room: Ewww, you get raunchy with your daddy? Did you really just say that?!
What is the most money you’ve ever blown after a ‘good’ night, and what was it on?
Asia: What? You want the amount? Like, a thousand dollars. I blew it on going out, and shopping.. Clothes and partying! And drugs…. and drugs, yeah. You can include that….
Okay, got it.
Susan: On everything! I got a hotel with my girls, drugs, and we were just chillin.
Jordan: Clothes and drugs. Oh, and I’ll take my boyfriend out.
Asia: Can I add that? Yeah, I spend way too much money on my boyfriend!
On an average night, how long does it take you to get stage-ready
Asia: Like, at work? Or before I come to work? At work, like 45 minutes to an hour. That doesn’t include all the coochie-shaving and whatnot. Or getting my weave put in.
Susan: Right now, I’m rushing because I’m late. I’m just going to throw on a thong and go, but on a regular night like, 30 minutes.
Jordan: Oh, god. Like an hour and a half. It Takes me 30 minutes just to do my hair!
Do you think it’s possible to find true love at a gentlemen’s club?
Asia: No. No. I don’t believe it. I personally believe that if a guy sees you at a strip club like, then he already has that opinion of you. Like you’re just a slutty dancer, so no, because he’s already seen you in that light.
Susan: My true love is my wallet, so I guess so, yeah. I don’t give a shit about anyone in here. The girls I care about, but the guys–fuck no. I did date a girl I met here though, and it was the most horrible relationship of my life.
Jordan: Yes! I’ve been with my guy for like, five years now, and he’s been good. He doesn’t go to strip clubs now. I think I may be in the minority though.
