Is Making It “Rain” Just An Old Drizzle

The idea of “making it rain” is synonymous with any Gentleman’s club in the country. Starting off as a term coined by many pop artists, the phrase has translated and traveled over to all genres of music and entertainment. The customers love it, the owners love it, and of course the entertainers LOVE it. But is “making it rain” dying? Is the economy really slowing down the precipitation of the strip club dollars or is this fad meant to evaporate?
Athletes, musical artists and many other wealthy professionals brag about showering dancers with thousands of dollars a night at the nations biggest clubs and you can occasionally get a glimpse of pro athletes in a Spearmint Rhino, Ricks Cabaret, Hustler and many more but not always making it “rain”. The term “making it rain” is single handedly the biggest phrase that made a lot of entertainers (dancers) their biggest pay days as dancer Rachel from Texas says, “Guys don’t make it rain anymore…. I should’ve saved the money during that time period because they guys come in now and just stare”. The argument ensues…is making it rain dying? Strip club fan and host of independent radio show EMA Host J. Rose says “ making it rain in the club wasn’t something that just started happening a couple of years ago, it’s been going on for years, it’s just the song that made it more popular… people are holding back because of the state the economy is in”.
Only time will tell if making it rain has been affected by a national financial crippling or if this term is nothing but a drizzle that will fizzle away.
