I remember my fascination with porn at an early age, but can you blame a young adolescent like myself at the time? In today’s world, the Internet has come a long way from the old school AOL version. Adult Entertainment has flooded the Internet with hardcore images, animated gifs, and free online video sites of all your favorite adult stars with the easy help of search engines. (Google, Yahoo)  Many parents have made precautions by censoring their children from these lewd images with parental controls on their desktops and laptops. Lord behold, when you think you have everything figured out. A loophole has opened for your horny 13 year-old.

As of today in New York City especially, children 13 and older can access hardcore porn in any of the city’s public libraries. They can easily bypass the software security by clicking off the filters that block the X-rated content. According to the New York Post, many library patrons see this behavior on a daily basis. “You’ll see three or four kids, 13 or 14 years old, and they’re all gathered around a computer giggling,” said a regular at Brooklyn’s central library at Grand Army Plaza. “A lot of the times, I see people watching pornography and stuff like that. The man right next to me today was watching naked women,” Julio Sosa, 14, told The Post at the Jerome Branch in The Bronx. According to Julio, “The Librarian will come over and tell them to stop watching, but once they leave they’re right back to watching it.” The question always arises how can visitors get away with this behavior? According to Library officials, they are simply abiding by the First Amendment.

Allowing access to porn in the public library is considered freedom of speech. Huh? I’m pretty sure some little boy is watching “2 girls and one cup” as we speak.
