Silvio Berlusconi, the Italian prime minister, invited six lapdancers to entertain him in his hotel during an official visit to Brazil. The 73-year-old Italian leader is said to have watched a private exhibition of lap and pole dancing on Monday during a trip that included meetings with Brazilian businessmen and the country’s president, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. The women claim that they were paid about US$600 and promised jobs as showgirls and starlets on Italian television channels owned by Berlusconi.
